Brass Rag Press offers a tiered pricing structure for book formatting based on page count. E-book and print are separate orders. 

The cost includes scene separators. All other graphics require a separate charge (see below.) The author is responsible for obtaining the rights to images they do not own and providing proof of rights to the formatter. If the formatted must create the images, an additional fee will be required. At this time, BRP accepts all non-fiction and non-illustrated fiction books for formatting.

All formatting orders require a deposit of $20.00 before work can begin. The remaining balance is due when the formatted copy is complete. 

1 – 25,000 words – $40.00

25,000 – 50,000 words – $45.00

50,000 – 80,000 words – $50.00

80,000 – 100,000 words – $55.00

Books over 100,000 words will be charged an additional $10 per 10,000 words, with no maximum fee.

If graphics other than scene dividers are desired (chapter headers, illustrations, etc.) an additional charge of $2.00 will be added for each graphic placement, with a maximum charge of $20.00 per image. Images created by the formatter will be assessed for cost on a case-by-case basis. Example: For the same image on each chapter title page, a $30.00 maximum fee would be assessed. For individual images placed throughout the book, a $2.00 charge per image placement is assessed, with a $30.00 maximum. If the formatter creates the image, a fee will be charged depending on the complexity of the image. This fee will be presented to the author for approval prior to placement in the book. 

All work is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. A job is tentatively scheduled (penciled in) when the contract is signed and returned. We confirm your time when the deposit is paid. Therefore, it is important to complete the contracting process in a timely manner, so that scheduling may proceed smoothly. 

**Book formatting does not include editing of any kind. It is expected that the author will deliver a format ready copy of the manuscript.
